Medical Assistant (CMA) (click to download panel card)
The Medical Assistant program introduces students to the overall operation of the physician’s office. Students are trained to assist the physician in the examination room, to perform routine laboratory procedures and to handle financial records, correspondence, insurance forms and other administrative functions. Job opportunities include doctor’s offices, clinics, public and private hospitals, and inpatient and out-patient facilities. Upon successful completion of this program students earn as associate of applied science degree and are prepared to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant exam.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Nursing assistants work closely with patients and provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing and feeding. Job opportunities include nursing homes, hospitals, hospice programs, rehabilitation centers and home care agencies. Upon successful completion of this semester program, students will receive a certificate of proficiency and will sit for the State of Arkansas CNA exam.
Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (click to download panel card)
Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and assist in the provision of pharmacy services, including prescription preparation, quality assurance, managerial, training, and regulatory roles. Job opportunities include work in a multitude of pharmacy settings: community, institutional, nuclear, compounding, and infusion pharmacies. Upon successful completion of this program, students earn a technical certificate and are prepared to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Emergency Medical Technicians provide basic life support to patients in pre-hospital emergency care setting. Job opportunities include private ambulance services, fire departments, hospitals, volunteer services and/or ancillary care. Upon successful completion of this semester program, students will receive a certificate and will sit for the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic National Registry Exam. Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (click to download panel card)
Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat, and educate patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Practicing under the direction of a physician, Respiratory Therapists assume primary responsibility for therapeutic treatments and diagnostic procedures. Job opportunities include hospitals, physician’s offices, home care agencies, pulmonary rehabilitation clinics, education, and sleep disorders clinics. Upon successful completion of this program, students earn an associate of applied science degree and are prepared to sit for both the Certified Respiratory Therapy and Registered Respiratory Therapy exams.
