The
Learning Success Center in the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Educational
Excellence serves as a study and academic advisement center that provides
students with access to computer-based tutorials and applications packages
in an open lab. It is staffed by faculty members and peer tutors who provide
academic assistance on a one-to-one basis. It provides supplemental services
to disadvantaged college students in order to help them to stay in and
to graduate from college.
As part of the federally-funded TRIO program, the Center aims to help
low-income, first-generation college students for tutoring and personal
growth development. TRIO goals are to help these students succeed in college
and continue their education in a four-year institution.
The TRIO program helps students transfer to four-year institutions, assisting
them in completing admissions and financial aid applications as well as
meeting other admissions requirements.
