According to the College Board, more than $143 billion in financial assistance is available to students and their families. Could you use some of that money? If so, visit or contact MSCC's Financial Aid office. Recent changes to financial aid programs are providing even more opportunities for people pursuing higher education, and NOW is the time to apply for assistance.

The maximum Pell grant has increased by $500 per year, so students with the greatest financial need will have the opportunity to attend college with little or no out-of-pocket expense. Because the grant program has relaxed its income threshold, students will have a greater opportunity to qualify even if they earned more money in 2008 than they did in 2007 (in some cases as much as $10,000 more).
Approximately 95 percent of the Mid-South students who applied for Pell grants in 2008-09 received at least some federal assistance, so why wait?
