Adult Education Instructor - Eighth Street

This is a part-time morning position (12 hours per week) at the Eighth Street Mission.
General Responsibilities: This position reports directly to the Director of Adult Education. The instructor will conduct Adult Education classes at the Eighth Street Mission site on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 a.m.–noon to prepare students for the Official GED® test. The instructor will provide classroom instruction using a variety of supplied materials and strategies, with test scores as the basis for writing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for each student. He or she will be responsible for holding classes at the scheduled times, monitoring and assessing student progress, and accurately documenting student performance. GED instructors assist in achieving Adult Education program goals and measurable objectives in support of grant guidelines and the College’s mission and purposes, strategic goals, and vision statements.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required with current Arkansas Teacher’s License. General computer skills required, as well as attention to detail, ability to organize and execute multiple tasks, and ability to execute all responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Salary: $15 per hour.
Start Date:  March 1, 2014
